Making its inaugural journey at the Rainhill Trials in 1829, George Stephenson’s ‘Rocket’ was the world’s first modern passenger locomotive. It changed the world forever, but this revolutionary invention caused deep suspicion for many Victorians.

What fate might befall them when travelling in this new way?

Could Stephenson have put their minds at rest with this fantastical machine?

Step inside, crank the handle and allow your destiny to be revealed!
